Malchanderi is lightweight and breathable, which is what makes this wearable through a full working day in Indian heat rather than just for an hour of photographs. It's a fine-handed fabric — soft, but not clingy.

The embroidery runs vertically down the front panel rather than spreading across the chest or yoke. That direction is doing real work. An unbroken vertical line pulls the eye up and down instead of side to side, which is why this reads longer and leaner than a horizontally embroidered set. Keep the line unbroken — a belt cuts it in half and cancels the effect entirely.

Sleeves are three-quarter with textured pleat detailing. It's the one sleeve length you never end up pushing up: it clears your watch, your plate and your keyboard on its own.

The pants are straight-fit and cut clean, so the vertical line carries from shoulder to hem rather than stopping at the waist.
